Alamo 7-Eleven clerk assaulted during e-cigarette theft
ALAMO – Deputies are investigating a theft that left 7-Eleven clerk with minor injuries Friday evening.
At around 6 pm on Friday, October 26, deputies were dispatched to a report of an armed robbery at the 7-Eleven on the 1400 block of Danville Blvd in Alamo.
Deputies arrived and learned that two suspects had stolen a bottle of wine and several boxes of e-cigarettes, according to Contra Costa Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Jimmy Lee.
During the incident, one suspect reportedly fled from the store and toward the Iron Horse Trail when confronted by the store clerk. Lee said the clerk sustained a minor injury while attempting to prevent a second suspect from leaving the store.
Deputies conducted an area check for the suspects but were unable to locate them. Investigators later determined the incident was not an armed robbery, but a theft and assault. Lee said the clerk refused medical attention at the scene.
An independent source told Danville San Ramon Updates that the e-cigarettes stolen were of “JUUL” brand.
