Weekly Drama: August 2016 – Week Three
The Weekly Drama is an overview of Police/Fire incidents (newsworthy or not) that took place in the San Ramon Valley during the week, but never made news headlines.
Thursday, August 18th
[San Ramon] 11:00 PM – San Ramon Police responded to multiple 911 calls reporting a brawl at the Bridges Golf Club. The brawl erupted during a wedding reception and multiple people were reportedly knocked unconscious. Officers arrived and attempted to locate a seriously injured party-goer with head trauma. They requested resources from neighboring jurisdictions to control the crowd, but were able to get a handle on the situation before those resources arrived. A woman with injuries to her head was transported to a local hospital. It’s unknown if any arrests have been made.
Saturday, August 20th
[Mt Diablo] 12:00 PM – San Ramon Valley firefighters were dispatched to a report of a bicyclist down on Mt. Diablo near the Junction. The bicyclist, who fell of his bike, was airlifted from The Athenian School for his injuries.
[Danville] 2:00 PM – Police responded to a report of an argument between a woman and an elderly man in the Costco parking lot. He was reportedly threatening the woman over a parking space disagreement. Officers talked to both parties involved.
Wednesday, August 24th
[San Ramon] 6:00 PM – Firefighters were called to a residence after a man reported that he ate a brownie he believed was “laced.”
Thursday, August 25th
[Danville] 3:00 PM – Officers responded to a report of a man carrying a scooter and flipping off passing motorists on San Ramon Valley Boulevard. He was gone when officers arrived.
[Danville] 9:30 PM – Police received reports of two women shoplifting baby formula from Safeway. They were gone when officers arrived.
Saturday, August 27th
[Danville] 12:30 AM – Officers responded to an anonymous report of approximately 100 people gathered in the middle of Morninghome Road following a house party. When officers arrived, they did not see anyone in the street.
[San Ramon] 12:30 PM – Firefighters were dispatched to a report of a “smokey haze” inside Starbucks. They did not discover any fire inside the building.
[Danville] 3:00 PM – Police were called to Los Panchos restaurant when an unruly patron reportedly started yelling at employees because he believed he was given incorrect change. Officers met up with the man and gave him some therapy.
[San Ramon] 6:00 PM – A citizen called police after they witnessed a purse snatching at Target. The store’s security chased the suspect across the parking lot into Whole Foods. Officers detained the man but later found out that he had only stolen gift cards. No arrests were made.
[San Ramon] 7:00 PM – Firefighters were called to the Men’s Warehouse/ Chipolte building after a caller reported that smoke was coming from the area. San Ramon Valley firefighters located the location of the small fire and worked to extinguish it.
