VIDEO: CHP Officers Arrest Pursuit Suspect in San Ramon
A suspect was taken into custody Thursday night after he led officers on a 100 MPH chase on I-680.
At approximately 10:15 p.m. Thursday night, a CHP officer assigned to the Dublin area observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on northbound I-680 near Pleasanton.
When the officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop on the vehicle, it did not yield to the officer’s signal and continued driving at a high rate of speed. Multiple CHP officers joined the pursuit up I-680 into San Ramon. The vehicle finally exited the freeway at Bollinger Canyon Road, where it stopped in the middle of the intersection.
In a video sent to Danville San Ramon Updates by Twitter user Marko Sanchez, officers could be seen pulling a shirtless man from the vehicle at gunpoint.
It’s unknown why the man led officers on the chase, but he faces charges of (at the least) evading police and speeding.
In all, the chase lasted less than 15 minutes on 9 miles of highway.
