Citizen’s suspicion leads to arrest of burglary suspects
SAN RAMON – A concerned shopper’s call reporting suspicious subjects yielded the arrest of two burglary suspects and the recovery of stolen property Tuesday evening.
At around 7:00 pm Wednesday, police responded to a report of suspicious subjects in the parking lot of The Marketplace Shopping Center on Alcosta Blvd.
An arriving officer witnessed a suspicious-looking vehicle exiting the parking lot and initiated a stop on the vehicle. During the stop, other officers checking the area located three smashed windows on vehicles in the parking lot.
Police say they also located a second subject walking away from the scene who was later determined to be involved in the burglaries. After speaking with the victims, officers identified and recovered thousands of dollars worth of property in the suspects’ possession.
One suspect from Oakland and another from Tracy were arrested and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility. A white lifted 4×4 truck they arrived in was impounded.
After the incident, San Ramon Police are reminding the public to: “See it, Hear it, Report it.”
