Danville Mayor’s Town Hall Set for this Saturday
DANVILLE – Mayor Karen Stepper invites the community to the Mayor’s Town Hall on Saturday, November 5, 2016. The program will focus on the future of the Town of Danville’s Arts, Parks and Recreation.
At the Mayor’s Town Hall, Recreation, Arts, and Community Services Manager Henry Perezalonso will discuss the Strategic Plan and how it will affect the Town in the years to come. Perezalonso will offer a preview of the national trends in parks and recreation, as well as initial feedback received by hundreds of community members as part of the Strategic Plan process.
The program will also feature a panel of members of the Parks and Leisure Services Commission and the Arts Commission. Mayor Stepper will moderate the Q&A session with the audience.
Panelists will include:
- Kevin Donovan, Chair, Parks and Leisure Services Commission
- Beverly Kumar, Chair, Arts Commission
- Sarah Guller, Youth Representative, Parks and Leisure Services Commission
“If you can imagine a new playground feature for older kids or adults, an art class for those of us with all thumbs, or a seniors’ dog training class, come share your ideas at the Mayor’s Town Hall,” stated Mayor Karen Stepper. She added, “We invite the community to learn more about the future of Danville’s parks and give their feedback.”
The Town Hall event is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. November 5, 2016 at the Veterans Memorial Building, 400 Hartz Avenue in Danville.
