On July 12 and August 9, 2017, the Town of Danville and the Danville Library will launch Kidchella, a brand new and free outdoor children’s reading and music festival, on the Town Green. This music festival is perfect for children 3 – 6, but family members of all ages will have a great time. The event is set to run from 11:15 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Library and on the Town Green, 420 Front St.

Join in at one of the craft stations to make something music-themed to take home. The Library will also lead story walks around the Town Green.
Band information:
July 12- Octopretzel
Octopretzel’s music, comprised of original songs as well as tried and true traditional favorites, is whimsical and fun, and has an underlying sensitivity for nature, feelings, and story. Best described as folk music, it crosses generations and genres, weaving together styles such as bluegrass, Rock and Roll, lullabies, and even nursery rhymes. Their shows integrate elements of many cultures, including African drumming, klezmer fiddling, and middle-eastern percussion.
August 9- The Raytones
The Raytones are five cool cats who love to rock out, have a ball, and play groovy music! In their vibrant and playful costumes, they encourage children to clap their hands, sing, and dance. They combine fun and educational lyrics with energetic blues, R&B, funk, and Rock and Roll. Kids will even have the opportunity to meet Ray the Rhino, the coolest character around, and give him a hug or a high five!
This event is free and appropriate for all ages.
