Local Law Enforcement to Conduct ‘Active Shooter’ Training Exercise Thursday
Danville Police and other local agencies will be conducting an ‘active shooter’ training exercise August 4, 2016 at Los Cerros Middle School.
Police say the training will take place on Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and will involve the use of simulated firearms and explosive sounds.
The Town of Danville says they are informing residents of the upcoming training in an effort to prevent any worry or concern.
No live ammunition will be used and the exercise will only be limited to the areas within campus, not surrounding neighborhoods.
The training is “designed to simulate a critical incident and provide response training for law enforcement and fire personnel,” according to Danville Police.
The activities taking place will only be simulated for training purposes and there will not be an actual event.
