Danville Police Investigate Armed Robbery in Alamo Springs
Danville Police officers are investigating a Wednesday afternoon armed robbery, where an individual was robbed of a watch at gunpoint. It was originally reported that a Ferrari was taken from the victim, but arriving officers found the vehicle still in the driveway following the robbery. However, a representative of the Danville Police Department later confirmed to KTVU that keys to a Ferrari were in fact taken from the victim, but not the vehicle itself.
Lt. Allan Shields said the incident occurred at approximately 3:07 p.m. in the 100 block of Alamo Springs Drive. The victim was approached by the suspects who pointed a gun and demanded the victim’s Rolex watch. The suspects then fled the scene in a late 90’s silver Mercedes with yellow paper license plates at front and rear. Witnesses describe the suspects as 2 to 3 African-American males, believed to be late teens.
Officers and a helicopter returned to the area at approximately 5:30 p.m. to investigate reports of a male subject wondering the hills adjacent to the homes in Alamo Springs. No such subject was located following a search of the area.
An Oakland resident was taken into custody about a week later following a report of a suspicious vehicle on Alamo Springs Drive. The individual was booked into jail for possession of a firearm. It is unknown if the individual is related to the robbery that occurred a week earlier.
