Suspect Arrested for Slapping Women on Iron Horse Trail
At approximately 2:00 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, the East Bay Regional Parks Police Department was notified of a battery that had occurred on the Iron Horse Trail. A female victim was reportedly slapped in the face by a male suspect in his 20s, described as a white male, wearing a black shirt, with “blue-tipped hair,” riding a lime green bicycle.
Danville Police Officers immediately responded to the victim’s location, when they received a call from a parent of a John Baldwin Elementary School student stating that a man (same description) had attempted to lure a juvenile walking home from school near Paraiso Drive. Soon after, an additional victim called police stating that the same man had swung at her and hit a stroller she was pushing. One caller even reported that the man slapped another woman while she was holding a baby.
Meanwhile, an Alamo Sheriff’s officer observed a man matching the suspect’s description on the Iron Horse Trail and immediately stopped and detained the individual on Ridgewood Road.
The victim was able to positively identify the suspect after East Bay Regional Parks officers arrived, and the suspect was placed under arrest. He was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility for false imprisonment, misdemeanor battery and assault.
The incident prompted the San Ramon Valley Unified School District to send an email to parents describing the incident and reminding parents to encourage their students not to talk to strangers.
