Coyote Causes Mayhem in Danville Safeway
At approximately 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening (November 13th), Danville Police officers were dispatched to a report of a coyote inside the Danville Safeway. Employees reported that the animal was terrorizing store patrons as it roamed around the grocery store. Upon arrival, officers located the animal and successfully corralled it in the seafood department. Officers contacted Contra Costa Animal Control and requested that they respond immediately. After an Animal Control officer finally captured the coyote in the bakery, he loaded the creature into his truck in hopes of relocating the scared animal. A video captured by Danville resident Natasha Serdina was sent to us.
