Firefighters battle Alamo garage fire Thursday morning

ALAMO – Firefighters battled a garage fire Thursday morning in Alamo.

Just after 5:30 am Thursday, firefighters were dispatched to a report of a garage fire in the 50 block of North Jackson Way.

A Sheriff’s Deputy was first on the scene and confirmed that all occupants had been evacuated. The fire eventually spread to the roof from the garage.

The California Highway Patrol received a report that smoke from the fire was causing a traffic hazard on I-680.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire after around 30 minutes. The extent of the damage due to the fire is unknown.
