Mountain biker airlifted Sunday after solo collision on Mount Diablo trail
MT DIABLO – A mountain biker was airlifted by a CHP helicopter after a solo bicycle collision on a trail in Mount Diablo State Park Sunday.
According to CHP, at around 8:45 am Sunday, paramedics with the San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District responded to a report of a mountain bike collision on Mt. Diablo.
A CHP helicopter also responded and was overhead when paramedics arrived at the scene. The helicopter was able to land near the rider, a male in his late 30’s.
After it was determined the bicyclist had suffered a head injury, the CHP helicopter transported him to a nearby hospital for treatment.
