Driver Dies after vehicle crashes into utility pole near Monte Vista School in Alamo
ALAMO – An occupant of a vehicle was killed after a vehicle struck a power pole in front of Monte Vista High School Tuesday morning.
At around 10:30 am, paramedics were dispatched to a report of a vehicle vs. utility pole in the 3100 block of Stone Valley Road, in Alamo
A Sheriff’s Deputy arrived first at the scene and found citizens conducting CPR, with an AED from the school already being used on the victim.
PG&E crews arrived quickly to shut down power to energized utility lines that were knocked down due to the accident.
Paramedics transported the victim to Kaiser Medical Center in Walnut Creek. The victim was later pronounced deceased, according to Danville Police.
Police have identified the victim as a 69-year-old man from Danville, but are withholding his name at the request of his local family while extended family members are notified.
The California Highway Patrol has closed Stone Valley Road for multiple hours as traffic investigators process the scene.
PG&E says Stone Valley Road (from Green Valley Road to Monte Sereno Drive) will likely be closed until midnight Tuesday, according to Danville officials.
