One Child Airlifted, Two Other Children & One Adult Hospitalized After Minivan Crashes into Pole
SAN RAMON – A helicopter and three ambulances have transported three children and one adult to local hospitals after a minivan crashed into a telephone pole late Thursday night.
At 8:33 pm Thursday night, firefighters and police in San Ramon responded to a report that a vehicle had crashed into a telephone pole on Crow Canyon Road near El Capitan Drive.
A officer who arrived at the scene found four people trapped inside a minivan, including a child with a head injury.
An ambulance was used to transport two children to UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital in Oakland while a third child with more serious injuries was transported to the same location via an air ambulance.
The fourth victim, an adult, was transported to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek.
San Ramon Police are investigating the accident with their traffic team. All directions of Crow Canyon Road remain closed as police investigate the incident.
The accident was the second accident investigation in San Ramon Thursday. Just two hours earlier, a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle on Village Parkway. That victim, who was unconscious, was transported to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek.
