Parent of 8-year-old who brought stolen gun to school arrested for child endangerment
SAN RAMON – The father of the elementary school student who brought a loaded firearm to school is facing serious charges after he was arrested at his home in San Ramon.
Police said they arrested 30-year-old Anthony O’Donnell at his home in San Ramon Thursday after investigators determined his son brought a loaded firearm to school at Twin Creeks Elementary earlier in the week (read more here).
During the investigation, police determined the firearm that was brought onto campus by the 3rd grader had been reported stolen by its owner, according to SRPD Sergeant Nathan Jones.
Authorities said a warrant was issued for O’Donnell’s arrest on charges including possession of stolen property, criminal storage of a firearm accessible to a child and child endangerment.
O’Donnell was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility and is being held on $140,000 bail.
