Pedestrian Killed in Camino Tassajara Collision Thursday
DANVILLE – A pedestrian has died after being struck by a vehicle on Camino Tassajara Thursday night.
At around 8:00 pm Thursday, police received several 911 calls reporting a vehicle vs. pedestrian collision on Camino Tassajara near Woodranch Drive.
One hysterical 911 caller reportedly told dispatchers they thought the pedestrian had died.
Officers arrived and located the pedestrian in the eastbound lanes of Camino Tassajara, just east of Woodranch Dr. Paramedics arrived shortly after.
Paramedics initially dispatched an air ambulance, but soon pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.
The victim was later identified as a 32-year-old woman.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene. The collision is being investigated by a county traffic task force.
East and westbound Camino Tassajara was closed for an extended period of time.
