Pilot’s View: Helicopter airlifts victim from Alcosta Blvd vehicle collision
SAN RAMON – A CHP helicopter helped paramedics transport a trauma patient from Sunday’s vehicle accident on Alcosta Blvd to a local hospital (video below).
Seconds after paramedics were dispatched to a report of a major vehicle collision on Alcosta Blvd Sunday afternoon, a helicopter with the California Highway Patrol, “H30” came over the radio, offering to help transport a patient to the hospital.
At the time, H30 was conducting a routine patrol over Alamo. They proceeded to the scene when a San Ramon Valley Fire Battalion Chief confirmed paramedics would need their assistance.
In just four minutes, H30 was circling the scene, ready to land at Old Ranch Park, near the scene.
The patient was brought to the park via ambulance, then loaded onto the helicopter and flown to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek.
