Primo’s Pizzeria to Host ‘JaviStrong’ Fundraiser
Primo’s Pizzeria & Pub in Danville, a local restaurant where Jake Javier once worked as a server, will donate 50% of this Saturday’s profits to Javier’s recovery fund.
Starting at 11:00 am Saturday, Primo’s Pizzeria & Pub will close their front parking lot to accommodate a wood-burning pizza oven and live entertainment as part of the fundraiser.
During the afteroon, The Fretful String Band will be performing Americana in the front parking lot. At 5:00 pm, DJ Rick Flores will take the stage and perform until 10 pm. The Shock Top Bug and Pacifico Jeep are also expected to make an appearance.
The fundraiser at Primo’s holds special significance for Jake Javier and the rest of his family. Javier began working at Primo’s as a busser in early 2014 before earning a food server position.
Drew Nichols, the owner of Primo’s, has also been a longtime football coach of Jake’s: “I have coached Jake in football since he was eight years old through high school.”
Nichols says Javier worked for him at Primo’s for two years, “Our families have been friends for many years. They are family, you do anything you can for family.”
Jake’s former manager at Primo’s, Alexandra Torretta describes Jake as “the sweetest, most hardworking young man in the world.”
His two brothers, Cameron and Jason also have experience as Primo’s employees.
Saturday is expected to be a busy day for Primo’s and the rest of downtown. Along with Primo’s fundraiser, the Town of Danville will also be hosting ‘Music in the Park’ near the Danville Library.
