San Ramon city vehicle stolen Wednesday morning

SAN RAMON – A San Ramon city vehicle was stolen at a local park Wednesday morning.

At around 9:10 am Wednesday morning, police received a report from a city employee that a city vehicle had been stolen from the parking lot of Athen Downs Park on Montevideo Drive.

Police, along with several public works employees, canvased the area in search of the vehicle.

According to information broadcasted to surrounding police agencies, the vehicle was a Ford pickup truck with a light bar at the top and “San Ramon Public Works” written on the side. The information also indicated the keys were in the vehicle when it was taken.

Approximately an hour later, a public works employee located the vehicle in the Summerwood Loop neighborhood and waited for police to arrive. Officers used a canine in an attempt to locate suspects, but none were located.

The employee’s personal cell phone was also removed from the vehicle.

Police did not comment or provide any information on the case.
