San Ramon Police arrest man accused of rapes, numerous lewd acts on children
SAN RAMON – A 46-year-old man is being held on more than $12 million bail as he faces rape charges and ‘lewd and lascivious act’ charges involving children.
Police say they opened an investigation after information was brought to their attention on March 16th, 2018 involving crimes committed by the suspect over the past three years.
In the days that followed, authorities served a search warrant at a San Ramon residence and placed Thomas Pancoast (46) into custody .
He is being held at the county jail on $12.7 million bail and faces 2 counts of rape of an intoxicated woman, 11 counts of lewd and lascivious acts on children under 14, 5 counts of lewd and lascivious acts on a minor 14-15 years old and 2 counts of sexual penetration by object on an intoxicated person.
The case was presented to the Contra Costa District Attorney’s Office today, police said.
San Ramon Police say four victims have come forward but there may be additional victims that have not been identified. Anyone with information is asked to contact SRPD (925-973-2763).
