San Ramon man arrested for DUI after Saturday morning pursuit

SAN RAMON – Police arrested a San Ramon resident after a high-speed pursuit on Bollinger Canyon Road Saturday morning.

At around 2:00 am Saturday, a police officer observed a pickup truck driving in the eastbound lanes of Bollinger Canyon Road.

When the officer attempted a traffic stop on the vehicle, it attempted to flee on Bollinger Canyon Road and a pursuit was initiated.

The chase reached speeds of more than 80 mph and ended when the vehicle yielded near Soyen Park in the Dougherty Valley area.

According to San Ramon Police Corporal Bill Doherty, the driver, a 29-year-old San Ramon resident, was placed in custody for DUI and felony evasion.
