San Ramon Police investigating attempted armed bank robbery
SAN RAMON – Police are investigating an attempted armed robbery at a bank branch that was reported just hours after an armed bank robbery in Danville.
At 1:03 pm on Thursday, police say a subject armed with a semi-automatic handgun entered the Safeway store located at 2505 San Ramon Valley Blvd.
He walked directly to the US Bank counter and brandished the firearm along with a note demanding money. The teller refused to give him money, at which point the suspect fled on foot and exited the store.
The suspect was described as a white male adult, 6’0″, mid 40’s, weighing 215-230 pounds. He was wearing a straw hat, a button down Hawaiian style shirt, dark pants and white shoes. The subject is seen in the attached photos.

Danville Police say they are working with San Ramon Police to determine if the robbery in Danville Tuesday morning was related to this incident.
