San Ramon Police Investigating Strong-Arm Robbery, Victim Hospitalized

SAN RAMON – A victim was hospitalized Thursday night after a group of suspects robbed them of their personal property.

At around 9 pm Thursday evening, police were dispatched to a report of a strong-arm robbery in the parking lot of Marketplace Shopping Center.

Police arrived and located a male victim bleeding with head trauma. They were later transported to a local trauma center.

During the investigation, police learned that a group of subjects contacted the victim in the parking lot before a physical altercation occurred. During the altercation, the victim’s cell phone was taken.

According to witnesses, the group fled on foot through the shopping center. At least one witness described the suspects as juveniles.

Police would only confirm that a strong-arm robbery took place and no weapons were used but refused to provide any details about the incident, citing an active investigation.
