‘Shelter in Place’ Ordered for Twin Creeks Elementary in San Ramon
SAN RAMON – Twin Creeks Elementary School students and staff are sheltering in place after a contractor reportedly struck a gas line on a neighboring street.
Firefighters and the San Ramon Valley Fire HAZMAT team responded to a report that a contractor struck a gas line on Abrigo Ct. just before 11 am Monday morning.
As a precaution, firefighters closed the area near Abrigo Court and Dos Rios Drive to all traffic. Fire officials also requested that nearby Twin Creeks Elementary School be ordered to ‘shelter in place.’
The gas line that was severed is considered to be a small residential line. PG&E arrived about ten minutes after firefighters and is working to solve the issue.
The shelter in place was lifted at around 12:10 pm.
