Sheriff: Citizens can call in concerns about Health Officer order violations

MARTINEZ – The Contra Costa County Sheriff says citizens that have concerns about possible violations of a recent health order can call the Sheriff’s Office non-emergency line.

In social media posts Thursday, Sheriff David O. Livingston told followers on Twitter and Facebook that they can share concerns by calling the Sheriff’s Office non-emergency line at (925) 646-2441.

The posts come after Contra Costa County Health issued a Health Officer order to “shelter in place” beginning on Tuesday. The order limits non-essential business and other in-person activity throughout the county. As of Thursday, at least 10 other California counties have declared similar orders.

On Wednesday, the Town of Danville announced the closure of tennis and basketball courts, along with children’s play areas at town parks. On Thursday, they said gardening/landscaping services (with limited exception) and haircut salons are not allowed to operate.

On Tuesday, San Ramon City Manager Joe Gorton gave information regarding the city’s response to COVID-19.

In the San Ramon Valley, some citizens have been reporting violations, which this publication is covering on Twitter.
