‘Silver Alert’ canceled after missing Alamo resident is located

ALAMO – CHP activated a Silver Alert Sunday evening for a missing elderly Alamo resident before he was located early Monday morning.

According to a Contra Costa Sheriff’s Office spokesperson, 82-year-old Javad Shafizadeh left his home in Round Hill for an appointment Concord at about 10:00 AM this Sunday morning.

He was not seen until early Monday morning when a CHP officer located him walking on I-80. He was transported back to his residence and the Silver Alert was canceled.
