Stolen vehicle suspect evades deputies into Alamo Elementary School early Sunday morning
ALAMO – A suspect driving a stolen vehicle evaded deputies early Sunday morning after a traffic stop near Livorna Road.
At around 12:30 am Sunday morning, a deputy with the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office was investigating a loud music complaint when the deputy observed a suspicious vehicle on Wilson Road near Livorna Road.
The deputy initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, which had two occupants inside. The driver of the vehicle immediately fled from the vehicle toward Alamo Elementary School. The deputy lost sight of the driver but detained a female passenger of the vehicle.
Police canine teams from multiple agencies responded to assist with the search of the suspect in the area of the school. During the search, officers were briefly distracted by a resident that began waving at them from a backyard but refused to respond to their requests.
During the search, deputies learned the vehicle had been reported stolen last week.
Despite a thorough search of the area, the suspect was not located.
