Surge of car burglaries reported Monday night in San Ramon
SAN RAMON – Police responded to a rash of car burglaries in various locations in San Ramon Monday night.
According to San Ramon Police Lieutenant Cary Goldberg, officers took 16 vehicle burglary, vandalism and theft-from-vehicle reports Monday night. Goldberg said it’s hard to tell if the crimes were committed by the same suspect, but one would conclude the incidents are related.
Most of the incidents were reported in commercial parking lots around the city, such as the parking lot of Buffalo Wild Wings, the San Ramon Islamic Center and Crown Billiards. Most victim vehicles had their windows smashed.
At least one vehicle burglary was also reported in Danville Monday evening.
A similar spike in vehicle burglaries was reported in July when San Ramon Police said 17 vehicle burglaries were reported in one day.
