SAN RAMON – Police announced Friday that they arrested a woman for stealing over $5,000 in jewelry from a 95-year-old San Ramon resident.
According to San Ramon Police, they received information that someone had stolen jewelry from the elderly man earlier in the week.
The suspect was identified using surveillance video from the senior living community in which the victim resided. A probable cause warrant was written by the San Ramon Police Department’s Investigation Division.
Police detectives placed the female suspect, identified as 61-year-old Beryl Levy, into custody Tuesday morning.
Levy, who was employed by the senior living community as a medical technician, was booked at the Martinez Detention Facility for burglary, grand theft and elder abuse.
Following her arrest, police enacted a search warrant of her residence in Mountain House, a community nearly 30 miles away from San Ramon near Tracy, CA.
During the search, numerous pieces of suspected stolen property were recovered inside the residence. Police say they are working with the senior living facility’s management staff to identify any additional victims.
