Suspect robs San Ramon bank Wednesday evening, may be responsible for other Bay Area hold-ups
SAN RAMON – Police say a suspect who held up a bank in San Ramon may be responsible for other armed robberies in the Bay Area.
At around 5:00 pm Wednesday, police were dispatched to a report of an armed robbery at the Pacific Service Credit Union in the 2000 block of Crow Canyon Place.
The suspect, described as a white male in his 50’s, reportedly entered the bank on foot and lifted his “ARMY” shirt, showing the teller a pistol in his waistband. Witnesses say he fled on foot after placing the money in a small wallet.
Witnesses also noticed the suspect was wearing reading glasses with sunglasses on top of his head.
Police contacted a citizen who claimed to have seen the suspect running northbound toward Camino Ramon.
Despite a search of the area, including the use of a police canine, the suspect was not located.
