Teenager Airlifted After Being Struck By Vehicle in San Ramon Remains in Critical Condition
SAN RAMON – A teenager remains in critical condition days after being struck by a vehicle on Bollinger Canyon Road.
According to police, at around 7:45pm Saturday evening, officers were dispatched to the intersection of Bollinger Canyon Road and Blueheart Way after receiving a report that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle.
Upon arrival, officers found the pedestrian on Bollinger Canyon Road suffering from significant injuries.
The pedestrian, a 15-year-old male, was transported by San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District personnel to the Toyota facility at 2451 Bishop Drive where he was then transported by medical helicopter to UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital in Oakland.
Police say he remains under the care of medical staff at UCSF Benioff and is listed in critical condition.
Investigators believe the victim was crossing Bollinger Canyon Road at Blueheart Way, from north to south when he was struck by the vehicle, which was traveling west on Bollinger Canyon Road.
Police say the involved driver remained at the location and is cooperating with investigators from San Ramon Police Department Traffic Division.
