Suspects in Thanksgiving morning Alamo burglary subdued by Sheriff’s Office K-9
ALAMO – A Sheriff’s Office canine team tracked two suspects believed to be responsible for an interrupted burglary early Thanksgiving morning in Alamo.
According to Jimmy Lee, Director of Public Affairs for the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to a burglary at around 3:16 am Thursday morning. An Alamo resident on the 1400 block of Laurentia Way reported that he heard sounds in his garage and possibly a door being forced open.
Deputies from the Contra Costa Sheriff’s Office Valley Station arrived and located two men carrying items from the back of the house, Lee said. A woman was also located inside a car parked in front of the residence.
The three subjects fled through the backyard and across fences toward Livorna Road. Deputies established a perimeter and canvased the area with a Sheriff’s Office canine team.
During the search, two male suspects were spotted running into the backyard of a nearby residence. Both suspects sustained dog bites and were eventually detained by deputies.
The suspects were evaluated by paramedics and transported to a local hospital by deputies. They were ultimately booked into the Martinez Detention Facility for burglary and possession of stolen property.
The identities of the suspects have not been released.
