Vehicle catches fire, juveniles facing charges after 120 mph pursuit through San Ramon Valley
DANVILLE – An adult and two juveniles are facing charges after evading police officers through multiple jurisdictions Saturday morning.
According to Danville Police Chief Allan Shields, officers attempted to stop a Black Acura for Vehicle Code violations in the area of Greenbrook Drive and Camino Ramon at 1:51 am Saturday.
The vehicle refused to stop and officers immediately gave chase, Shields said.
Officers pursued the vehicle at 80 mph on Crow Canyon to Dougherty Road before the vehicle made a u-turn back toward San Ramon where a San Ramon PD K9 unit was able to join the pursuit.
The vehicle continued fleeing in the northbound lanes of I-680 at speeds of 120 mph before ultimately crashing on the Livorna Road offramp from I-680 in Alamo. Officers took two subjects into custody after they ran from the vehicle.
Firefighters with the San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District responded to extinguish a grass and vehicle fire after the Acura caught fire following the crash.
A third suspect was located nearby shortly after. Suspects were taken to a local hospital but there were no reported injuries.
