Suspects arrested in Downtown Danville Armed Robbery
DANVILLE – Several suspects were arrested Friday evening following an armed robbery on Railroad Avenue.
At around 4:45pm Friday, Danville police received a call from a witness reporting an armed robbery in the parking lot of Trader Joe’s on Railroad Avenue.
During the investigation, police learned two suspects (both wearing black surgical masks) took a high-value watch from a victim at gunpoint. At least one witness described the weapons as a handgun and an AR-style pistol.
Both suspects fled in a vehicle following the robbery.
Police officers searched the area with the help of a Sheriff’s Office helicopter but were unable to immediately locate any suspects.
Shortly after, detectives with the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office located the suspect vehicle in Antioch. They arrested the suspects with assistance from Antioch Police and a Sheriff’s Office helicopter.
One suspect is identified as Leon Fountain, 18, of San Jose. Two other suspects are juveniles. Fountain was arrested for armed robbery, conspiracy, participating in a criminal street gang and weapons violations. He is being held on $380,000 bail at the Martinez Detention Facility.

Think the juveniles should be prosecuted as adults with Leon. They need to know there are consequences for criminal activity.
