Victim robbed at gunpoint in San Ramon park Wednesday night

SAN RAMON – Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred Wednesday night at Centennial Park in San Ramon.

Officers were dispatched to a report of an attempted robbery at the park, located on Westside Drive, at around 10:00 pm Wednesday.

According to San Ramon Police Sergeant Jones, the victim claimed he was pistol-whipped while sitting in a vehicle.

The victim’s backpack, which was stolen during the incident, was located on Hopyard Road during the investigation. A wallet had been removed from the backpack when police discovered it.

Jones said officers were unable to see any visible injuries on the victim. There is no description of the responsible suspect(s).
