Woman Killed by Falling Tree on San Ramon Golf Course
SAN RAMON – A woman was fatally struck by a falling tree on a San Ramon golf course during stormy weather Saturday morning.
Paramedics with the San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District were first dispatched at 10:55 am to a report that a tree had fallen on a woman somewhere on the Canyon Lakes Golf Course.
Authorities arrived and found bystanders conducting CPR on a woman who had been removed from under the tree that fell on her.
A helicopter was originally called to the scene to airlift the victim to a local trauma center, but paramedics transported opted to transport the unconscious victim to San Ramon Regional Medical Center where she was later pronounced deceased.
Officers from the San Ramon Police Department also responded to the scene to conduct an investigation of the accident.
According to Weather Underground, winds in the area were 11.5 MPH with a gust speed of more than 21 MPH around the time of the accident.
